What do I do if I have a task I can’t close?

If you can't close a task for any reason, you can tag @accountant in the task, letting them know the reason you can't close it and asking them to close it on your behalf.

There may be times when you are assigned a task that you are not able to complete. Some examples include:

  • Scoped to have your accountant split the principle and interest for a loan your client does not have
  • You’ve been requested to connect a bank account that was scoped incorrectly and does not exist for your client
  • The task is no longer relevant for your client

In these instances take the following steps to get the task completed on your behalf:

  1. From either the partner portal or client portal view, click the Work module.
  2. Find and open the task you would like completed on your behalf.
  3. Click the Comments tab.
  4. Create a comment and tag the @accountant and let them know the reason why you cannot complete the task and would like them to complete it on your behalf.
  5. Click the Comment button.
Your accountant will review your comment and take the necessary action to close the task on your behalf. Note, this could include reaching back out to you to clarify details before closing the task.
