Transaction Manager

Confidence levels | Transaction Manager

A confidence level rating is our solution's level of confidence in our own accuracy, on our automated categorizations

What are Botkeeper's Confidence Ratings?

This ensures that we're providing an interactive and transparent experience into what's happening under the Botkeeper hood, and empowers our firm client to help 'train' the machine as to how to improve on the details of the data in the future.

There are three different confidence values:

  • High confidence (98%+) - transactions are automatically categorized, pushed to GL and show up on the Processed tab in Transaction Manager.
  • Medium confidence (90-97.9%) - transactions are automatically categorized, pushed to GL and show up on the Needs Review in Transaction Manager.
  • Low confidence (0-89.9%) - transactions are automatically categorized, pushed to GL and show up on the Needs Review tab in Transaction Manager.

Confidence Rating Configurations

Every firm has their preference, which is why we provided the ability to customize the Confidence-based settings for each client in the “Configurations” tab of Transaction Manager.

If you'd like to configure “low-confidence” transactions to be reviewed by the Botkeeper team* before they’re added to the GL you can:

  • Navigate to the “Configurations” tab of Transaction Manager.
  • When the “Send Transactions to GL” setting is disabled, the Botkeeper team reviews each transaction before they are added to the GL. Leave this as is to have all transactions reviewed prior to being added to the GL.

When this setting is enabled, the Botkeeper team still reviews each transaction but they are added to the GL as soon as they are processed by AutoPush. This means that you may see transactions before the review is complete and categorizations may change.
*For clients who are not on our platform-only package without services.

Can “low-confidence” transactions be categorized to a placeholder account until the Botkeeper team has reviewed them?

  • Yes! You can customize settings for each client in the Configurations tab of  Transaction Manager.
  • For example, if an uncategorized income/expense GL account is assigned as the default, you will see more transactions posted to that account. However, this will only be temporary until we complete our review.
